From 1995 until 2005 Paul was head of Driver Training for Leicestershire Constabulary. He devised and ran driving courses at all levels for the Police service. He was an authorised driving examiner and advanced police driving instructor / examiner. Paul was a former Chair of the East Midlands |Regional Police Driving Schools Conference and a long serving member of the National Police Driving Schools Conference, where he researched and reported on a variety of issues.

Paul designed and wrote the 2004 version of the National Police Driving Manual.

Since retiring from the Police Service Paul has continued in the driver training field working in the fleet and instructor training markets. He has also trained Highways Agency Staff, Driving Assessors and Law enforcement officers and other emergency service staff.

Paul designs and runs a variety of driving related courses and specialises in advanced driver training, training for the Fleet market, advising on
collision investigation,from a drivers view point and advising on policy issues.
